انڈیا کے محکمہ جنگلات نے پہاڑی ریاست اترکھنڈ میں رینگنے والے اور چھوٹے جانوروں کے سڑک پار کرنے کے لیے ایک انوکھا پل تعمیر کیا ہے'.

مقامی میڈیا کے مطابق اس 90 فٹ لمبے پل جسے "ایکو بریج" کا نام دیا گیا ہے یہ بانس، گھاس اور پٹ سن سے تعمیر کیا گیا ہے جو اپنی نوعیت کا پہلا پل ہے'.

اس پل کو تعمیر کرنے کی وجہ یہ ہے کہ بہت سے رینگنے والے جانور انڈین ریاست اترکھنڈ کے مشہور سیاحتی مقام نینتال کو جانے والی شاہراہ پر تیز رفتار کاروں کے نیچے آ کر کچلے جاتے تھے. اسی وجہ سے یہ پل تعمیر کیا گیا ہے۔

جانوروں کی توجہ پل کی جانب مرکوز کرنے کے لیے حکام اب اس پر گھاس اور بیلیں اگا رہے ہیں'.

محکمہ جنگلات کے فاریسٹ آفیسر چندر شیکھر جوشی کے مطابق اس شاہراہ پر سیاحوں کی گاڑیوں کے نیچے آ کر بہت سے رینگنے والے اور چھوٹے جانور کچلے جاتے تھے۔

ان کا کہنا تھا کہ حکام نے اس پل کے دونوں اطراف میں کیمرے نصب کر دیے ہیں تاکہ وہ جانوروں کی نقل و حرکت دیکھ سکیں۔

یہ پل خود سیاحت کا مرکز بن گیا ہے اور بہت سے راہ گیر سیاح یہاں رک کر تصاویر اور سیلفیاں لیتے ہیں۔ تاہم محکمہ جنگلات کے حکام کو امید ہے کہ بہت جلد یہ پل جانوروں کی توجہ حاصل کر لے گا۔

ایک فاریسٹ آفیسر نے انڈین اخبار انڈین ایکسپریس کو بتایا کہ 'یہ گھنا جنگل ہے اور ہاتھی، ہرن، بھینسے اور لیپرڈ اس علاقے میں گھومتے ہیں۔ ڈرائیور ان جانوروں کو کچھ فاصلے سے دیکھ کر اپنی گاڑیوں کی رفتار کم کر دیتے ہیں یا رک جاتے ہیں لیکن وہ سانپ، چھپکلیوں یا گلہریوں کے لیے ایسا بہت کم کرتے ہیں'.

حکام کو امید ہے کہ یہ پل علاقے کے چھوٹے اور رینگنے والے جانوروں کے متعلق آگاہی پیدا کرنے میں مدد دینے کے ساتھ ساتھ ان کی حفاظت کرنے میں بھی مدد دے گا.۔۔۔
