Outside the Miami restaurant where French Montana was filming a
video, at least 10 people were injured.
According to statements from the restaurant and Miami Dade Fire
Rescue, at least 10 individuals were hurt in a gunshot outside a Miami Gardens,
Florida restaurant where rapper French Montana was filming a music video
(MDFR).
The Licking, a chain of restaurants owned by DJ Khaled with several
locations, issued a statement, "Our hearts are sad and go out to the
victims of this horrific act."
"We had no idea that a video was being made; we only just
learned that French Montana was filming a scene in the back parking lot. We
don't know what happened in reality," the statement said. The Licking
restaurant has provided authorities with the required footage and has no
connection to the incident.
Just before 8 p.m. ET, emergency units were sent out after reports
of a mass casualty incident, according to MDFR.
"Fire teams discovered many patients with serious injuries
when they arrived. Firefighters came and encountered other injured people outside
of a local fire station in addition to the injured patients they found at the
first scene, according to emergency personnel.
According
to MDFR, "fire crews quickly started triage to determine the severity of
the patient's injuries and for transportation to the hospital." "A
total of 10 patients suffered injuries as a result of the incident. Four of the
patients drove themselves to nearby hospitals. The remaining 6 victims were
evacuated to nearby trauma hospitals by land and air rescue thanks to MDFR.
