After experiencing 4 convulsions, Bam Margera was "declared dead."
After being diagnosed with coronavirus, the former
"Jackass" star was taken to the hospital. During one seizure, he bit
his tongue so hard that it "was practically falling out," and later,
he swallowed some contaminated blood, which caused pneumonia.
"I was essentially declared dead on December 8, Elvis
Presley's birthday," he claimed. I had no idea I had a bad COVID. I had
four seizures that lasted between ten and twenty minutes each as my body began
to shut down. During the fourth seizure, I chewed my tongue so severely that it
was on the verge of falling out.
"I was drinking the infected blood, which gave me pneumonia as
well, and it got so bloated and puffy, it wouldn't fit in my mouth. When the
shaman drove me to the hospital, I went into my fifth seizure, and I couldn't
breathe without a tube down my throat."
After he "blacked out," Bam believed he had only been in
the hospital for "a couple of hours" and was unaware that he had
actually been there for nearly a week.
On the "Wild Ride!" podcast hosted by his former
"Jackass" co-star Steve-O, he continued: "I woke up five days
later thinking I was there for a few hours.
"Dude, you've been here for about a week, they're like. You
weren't breathing on your own when we tried to remove the tube, so we gave up.
Following his release from a San Diego hospital last month, the
43-year-old professional skateboarder praised his supporters for their
"love and support."
He declared, "I'm out! I'm grateful for the love and support
of my family, friends, and community.
Bam's family had only recently disclosed that he was "on the
road to recovery."
The former "Viva La Bam" star's family posted on social
media that "Bam was recently hospitalized. Fortunately, he is currently
undergoing treatment for pneumonia while testing negative for Covid.
